Live music has returned (and I am very excited)! I'm going to the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown this weekend and AJ Lee and Blue Summit (who are going to be at the Meltdown) were playing a gig in Taos, NM, a mere 4-hour drive from Durango. I went down there for the show, and took the opportunity to have a short (very short) camping trip.
I left Durango around 10AM and had a very fun drive down to Taos, found a campsite at Lone Juniper Campground, and got things set up. This was my first time setting up the new tent and it only took me 45 minutes from parking the car to staking down the guy lines, sure beats the 2-hour setup of the old Palatial Tent.
The campground was nice and was right next to the Rio Grande!
The concert was lovely; small, intimate, and lots of fun (sorry, didn't get any pics). I'm looking forward to seeing them again at the Meltdown this weekend.
I left camp early this morning and took a more rural route home. I got delayed a bit by these guys:
Pretty good for my first outing, but that's all for now, next time I'll remember my notebook and there will be more writing.
